You don’t need expensive flowers or centerpieces to create an interesting and colorful table setting. Add color and texture by getting creative with simple items you can often find around the house or astatine the grocery store. Here ar a few ideas to get you started.

Bobbing for apples
Look around your home for large, clear vases. They do non all have to be the same sizing or style. Pick up a bag of granny smith or other green apples at your local grocery store. It does not matter what kind but a bright green will be the most dramatic. Fill each vase with a varying amount of water. Place a few apples in each vase. They will float near the top. This requires very little aesthetic talent but looks very sophisticated.

Fruit place settings
This will add a splash of color to your table and allow you to control the seating plan for your dinner party in a fun and easy way. Write each guest’s name directly on a piece of yield using a black marker. Place each fruit, name side up, on a dinner plate to refer their place setting. Do not feel obligated to use the same yield for each place setting. You could use one type of fruit for each family or couple, or even a different yield for each person.

Hershey kisses
Find an interesting bowl, vase or other type of glassware in your home. Try to avoid a typical candy dish if possible. Fill the bowl with Hershey kisses. If it is a holiday season, buy the colorful vacation version for interest. Place this in the center of your table. You may use the candy of your choice (it does non have to be Hershey kisses) but I recommend that you use only one kind of candy to keep a clean look.

Votive Candles
Everyone seems to have an teemingness of votive candles around their home. Unfortunately, they are not very interesting on their own. But, if you were to group them together in small bunches on the table, or string them out along the center of the table, they become much more interesting. To improve on this even further, try wrapping each glass votive holder with a piece of coloured paper. It will change the look of your table entirely. One color on all votives will create a more advanced look but a jumble of coordinative colours would add a festive look to your occasion.

Fish in a Bowl
This is a very inexpensive centerpiece. Find a bowl, vase or other glass container in your home. Purchase a small fish from your local fish store. Speckled goldfish and fighting fish are both inexpensive and pretty and would make an excellent choice. Fill your vase or bowl with water and place the fish within it. Now you have a beautiful centerpiece and a pet. Add a colorful ribbon to your vase for an extra touch and to color coordinate if desired.

These are only a few ideas to get you started. With a little forethought and a small amount of effort, you can have an graceful table setting for only a few dollars.
